Dear RFCPA members,
I won’t start this email with “I hope this message finds you well” because I know better. I hope today is a better day than yesterday and that tomorrow is also a good day.
As you know (because you’re reading this on our new website) RFCPA is getting a bit of a reboot; Sue, the previous president, is still around, but she is enjoying her well-deserved retirement, and I have been tapped to take over the leadership mantle. A little bit about me: I’m Stef Florie, and I’ve lived in Richmond, Virginia for most of my adult life. I’ve been besties with Hilary Greek (a long-standing member of this group) since before her diagnosis with Lupus, so I have seen second-hand what it’s like to live with chronic illness. The struggle is real, and you are definitely not alone.
As with all reboots, change is coming. I don’t want to change anything that is working well, but I also know that there is more we can be doing. I’m here to support our efforts at raising awareness, fundraising, and any other goals that we, the RFCPA community, can come up with.
One of the changes coming is that we’ll be inviting more input from all of you. I hope that when the time comes, you’ll answer the calls to fill out surveys, and help provide direction to the group.
All my best,
Stef Florie
